Servo worm gear with backlash as low as 1 arc minute

Apex Dynamics has launched its latest motion control product-JDLB series high-precision servo worm gear reducer.

The backlash is as low as 1 arc minute, the aluminum alloy casing ensures low gearbox noise and long service life.

It is available with different output shafts (solid shaft, hollow shaft and shrink disk), mounting positions and input flange versions to match the required servo motor.

With a high output torque range of 9 Nm – 1000 Nm, the JDLB range offers a range of options for companies looking to enhance motion control.

Servo worm gearboxes are suitable for planetary gearboxes, providing powerful and precise torque control in a compact right-angle solution. They are particularly suitable for applications where there are sudden changes in load or where very heavy loads require smooth operation.

The JDLB product line is engineered with shock absorption and distribution to protect the gearbox and connected parts, while the reliability and precision reduce wear on parts and extend the life of the machinery. Enclosed construction and high-performance synthetic lubricants mean the gearbox is also maintenance-free.

Available from the Automation division of Apex Dynamics UK, whose 5 year warranty, 3-4 week lead time and delivery guaranteedJDLB series servo worm gear reducers are available in 9 frame sizes from 025 to 110, two backlash variants (1 arc minute and 2-4 arc minutes) and a range of gear ratios (10, 20, 25, 30) ,40,50,60,80,100).

Lightweight and compact worm gear reducers can be used in series and are driven by one motor to achieve synchronous output of multiple worm gears. They are very suitable for applications such as parts processing equipment in the electronics or communications industries.

“For the most demanding applications, we have successfully reduced the gap to 1 arc minute, providing minimal energy loss for industry applications where energy conservation and system efficiency are important,” said Apex’s Andrew Parsons.
