The EPOS single positioner is now also available as a technical feature of the Sinamics S210. With this function module, high-precision motion control positioning tasks can be implemented quickly and easily in the frequency converter, since the positioning tasks can be calculated directly in the drive. This reduces the computing power of the controller, which can calculate more complex tasks or a larger number of drive axes.

Analog motion control

The new generation can also simulate motion control applications. Using DriveSim Advanced simulation software, It is now also possible to create a digital twin of the Sinamics S210 in the TIA Portal. This can be used to virtually commission the drive system in advance and perform engineering tasks. As a result, process requirements in the drive system can be ensured cost-effectively. In addition, digital twins provide the opportunity to create virtual training courses and demonstrations, and to optimize real machines by eliminating problems in drive systems simulated using digital twins.
