Rockwell Automation targets market expansion with new high-performance, scalable Kinetix integrated motion drives

Milwaukee, November 10, 2020 /PRNewswire/ — Rockwell Automation’s Motion business unit continues to strive to enable flexible manufacturing for customers and has expanded its Kinetix servo drive family with smart and scalable solutions. The new Allen-Bradley Kinetix 5300 servo drive is a fully integrated CIP motion solution for global machine builders designing market-competitive machines looking to increase performance and leverage a single design environment for control and motion. When paired with new TLP motors, customers can extend the power of the Connected Enterprise into simple machines, gaining the competitiveness of coordinated platforms, an approach that enables Rockwell Automation to accelerate growth across emerging markets. Asia and mature markets Europe. The new product line combines with other products in the Kinetix family to provide Rockwell Automation’s full range of servo drive products for applications ranging from small stand-alone machines to large complex systems.

Kinetix 5300 servo drives are designed for a variety of machine applications such as electronics assembly, packaging and converting, printing and web (CPW). The new drives also include features that help simplify machine design and optimize performance throughout the machine’s lifecycle. Like other Kinetix integrated motion drives, the Kinetix 5300 utilizes Studio 5000 as a single design environment. Using a single family of servo drives allows machine builders to program all drives in the same design environment and reuse code between drives, simplifying the design and commissioning process. The Kinetix 5300’s native integration with Logix control enables smart tuning capabilities that automatically adjust for changes in inertia and resonance, helping to optimize machine performance and simplify machine maintenance.

“Our expanded product portfolio provides machine builders with a complete range of scalable servo drives suitable for many different applications, from stand-alone machines to large complex systems with network security,” said Bill KegleyDirector, Motion Control Product Management, Rockwell Automation. “Now, with the addition of the Kinetix 5300 to our servo drive family, we are able to deliver truly scalable smart motion solutions that help our customers achieve productivity and sustainability across a wider range of applications.”
