Control and drive – Beckhoff power modules, KOLLMORGEN servo motors, etc.

AMC servo drive

Advanced Motion Controls (AMC) launches the FE060-25-EM servo drive. The drive measures 38 x 25 x 16 mm and occupies about the same area as two standard postage stamps. In other words, four of these drives can fit on a standard business card. Despite its smaller size, the FE060-25-EM delivers up to 25 amps continuous and 50 amps peak for brushed, brushless, stepper and linear servo motors.

Beckhoff power module

Beckhoff launches the AMP8620 power module. Thanks to the IP 65 protection class and consistent decentralization of the AMP8620 power module, the entire motion system can now be installed directly on the machine. In addition, the air conditioning system required to cool the control cabinet can be eliminated.

Eaton has developed the 5P uninterruptible power supply system (UPS). Lithium-ion batteries also charge three times faster, reducing vulnerability and maximizing uptime in the event of a power outage.

Kollmorgen servo motor

Kollmorgen launches AKMH series stainless steel servo motors. The AKMH series combines high drive performance with ease of cleaning. For example, the internal structural design effectively eliminates outward heat loss.

Stainless steel has a low thermal conductivity, so motors made from this material often have problems with this. AKMH’s improved heat dissipation improves drive performance in real-world use, as synchronous servo motors can deliver more output with the same design dimensions.

Tyco servo drive

Technosoft has launched the iPOS4808 VX smart servo drive, a plug-in card for the company’s iPOS series of drives that can control any DC brush motor, rotary/linear brushless motor or stepper motor up to 400 W. A communication network for received commands through which the drive interfaces with typical feedback devices such as incremental and sine/cosine encoders, digital or linear Halls.

Rated at 8 A continuous current at 48 V and 20 A peak current, the iPOS4808 provides high power density on a compact board – taking up only 44 x 56 mm of PCB space. Communication channels include RS-232 serial communication, EtherCAT via expansion modules or direct CANopen.
